Manufacturing & Assembly at 7A
Welcome to the heartbeat of Packet Digital, where ideas become reality
Packet Digital is a leader in building smart, high-performance batteries for unmanned systems. With decades of experience designing, developing, assembling, and testing hundreds of battery solutions, our team will take a power solution from concept idea to finished product at 7A.

Manufacturing Critical UAS Components in the United States
Packet Digital is bringing lithium-ion battery production to the United States with the opening of a 25,000-square-foot manufacturing facility. The building, located in Fargo, North Dakota, is the heartbeat of Packet Digital’s premium smart battery and charging products. The state-of-the-art facility is where our team of engineers use their expertise to build the high-performance batteries our customers have come to expect.
On site, we have a surface-mount technology line, laser and resistance welders, a testing lab — including a thermal test chamber — laser cutting and engraving, and more. If you have a power or battery idea for your platform, 7A is where it can come to life.
Capabilities

SMT Line
Surface Mount Technology (SMT) is a key process in the electronics manufacturing industry, used for the assembly of electronic components onto printed circuit boards (PCBs). Packet Digital’s SMT line offers considerable advantages for PCB assembly including smaller component sizes, higher component density and increased automation. Capable of placing up to 50,000 components per hour, our SMT line can produce PCBs in mass.

Assembly
The 25,000-square-foot facility is where all of Packet Digital’s products go from an idea to a high-quality product. Our team of experienced assemblers and technicians have the tools and capabilities to put the finishing touches on products we ship to our customers. With thousands of battery packs built each year at 7A, customers can rest easy knowing every step of the manufacturing process is handled in the same facility and by the same team.

Welding
Before our battery packs are ready for the assembly team, our skilled welders take the individual battery cells and make the welds necessary to ensure optimum power distribution. At 7A, Packet Digital has both a laser and resistance welder. Both are highly automated ensuring our customers that the quality welds needed for a safe and reliable battery are always achieved. Our welders work on a variety of sizes for both pouch and cylindrical cell designs.
